About Us
The Glade offers self-catering accommodation at Blackboys village, in the High Weald Area of Outstanding
Natural Beauty. It's a great place to get away from it all and the only noise is bird-song.
- The wooden lodge has an acre of its own grounds and is set in ancient woodland. It offers private or shared accommodation in 9 bunk-bedded rooms sleeping from 1 to 6. All bedding is provided.

The Glade is popular with families, who love our 3, 4, 5 or 6-bedded
rooms. There is plenty of space outside for the children to play, and the
shared lounge and dining room is a great place to socialise with other guests.
With activities including walking, rock-climbing, golf, horse-riding, mushroom picking and much more nearby, everyone in the family will find something to suit! - We are popular with group bookings and offer very reasonably rates for weekend bookings for groups of up to 30. Our guests love our new wood-burning stove, which is toasty and warm, and give the place a cozy atmosphere.
- We are on the Weald Way and Vanguard Way long-distance walking routes, making us a great stop-off for tired hikers.
- We're a short drive to the climbing crags at Harrison's Rocks and Bowles. Climbers are very welcome and there is space to put all the climbing gear in the cycle shed.

The Glade has wet-rooms
and showers and a tastefully decorated lounge/dining room.
Kitchen facilities include cooker with oven and additional hob and grill, fridges, freezer, toasters, kettles and microwaves. Along with as much crockery and cutlery as you could need! -
Outside we have a spacious bike shed and cosy camping field, and picnic benches are great for a breezing al-fresco breakfast under the trees.
We have enough parking space for 6 cars in the woods.

The Owners
When we bought The Glade, we enjoyed making some changes to the fantastic old building.
It's Full of atmosphere and now we've brought it up to date. The new shower and toilet facilities are more
comfortable and the lounge area has been transformed: the old suspended ceiling
has been replaced, and a warm wooden floor installed. The recent addition of a wood-burning stove makes the cold winter evenings cosy and snug. An you won't be able to resist gazing into the warming flames.
When we saw the old deeds, we found that the area of woods where we're based is called The Glade. It is such a perfect name for this hide away in the woods that we have reinstated it. We are now called The Glade, YHA-Blackboys.
